NAW Demonstration Weekend

Our passion is to create memorable items from the wide range of both native and exotic timbers available in New Zealand, and to share our skills with others such as yourself.

Chairman’s Ramble.

The last few months the NAW AGM and demonstrators weekend has been our focus. Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed their time and the opportunity to buy or learn from the 7 trade displays, learn from the 7 fantastic demonstrations. Many went home with wonderful raffle prizes. The Tool Shed was our major sponsor and contributed a lot of the main items in the raffles.

I understand there were people from the following locations in NZ attending:

1 from Dunedin -1 from Oamaru – 3 from Christchurch -1 from Nelson -2 from Wellington -1 Wairarapa -1 Dannevirke -3 Taranaki -5 from Northland -And many other places.

Including exhibitors, demonstrators and NAW committee, there were approx.:        160 attending on Saturday                           80 at the Gala Dinner                                   130 on Sunday.

The Wood Art exhibition was a wonderful showcase of our members’ creativity.  Mayor Paula Southgate and her husband visited and were very impressed with everything they saw. Thanks to all who put their work on display.

The comments we received were all very complimentary.
The club shared with NAW in the profit of the weekend.
A huge thank you to Colin Chung for all the wonderful catering.

To all our members who helped in a multitude of ways, Thank YOU!
