Committee News

Our passion is to create memorable items from the wide range of both native and exotic timbers available in New Zealand, and to share our skills with others such as yourself.

Fundraising

Your committee are working constantly to raise funds for new equipment, lathes- tools- chucks etc. We are actively applying for grants to improve the experience of club members.

We have an idea to approach businesses to sponsor the Guild annually and we are looking at a sum of $5000 – $10,000 per business per year. We have some companies interested in funding us but they want something in return.

Can we supply them with well made fruit bowls, cutting boards, rolling pins, coasters, cheese boards, etc? They in turn can pass these on as a thank you gift for their clientele.

Here is how you can help, we need you to make or donate already made items to this cause. I need to stress the quality aspect, the committee can’t do everything, but this idea will benefit the club and all club members.

The Committee is considering postponing our Club Sale Day till earlier next year. We are also however discussing the possibility of joining the garden show at Hamilton Gardens.

For this event we will need your help with demonstrations and goods for sale. More information to come.
